Our large house project this year is to install heat pumps using the Mass Save program. We're Texas transplants, so we were very unfamiliar with the program. We found Precision Home Services through the contractors' spreadsheet on the Mass Save website. We narrowed down the massive list to five contracts based on location, online reviews, services provided, and web presence.
Out of the five estimates, Precision Home Services provided the best solution and the most competitive price. Michael came out for the initial visit and was extremely knowledgeable on the products, solutions, and where to place the mini-splits. Given our massive and empty attic space, he suggested installing a ducted system on our 2nd floor with mini-splits on the first floor. He never once tried to upsell us on different brands, and gave his honest opinions on which brand of units we should consider. He answered all our questions and was quick to respond to any follow-up questions we emailed.
Deb, sales coordinator, is a rock star. She held our hand and guided us through the entire Mass Save and Heat Loan process. She handled all the paperwork, and all we had to do was provide the necessary items. She was also swift to respond to the numerous questions we had. Scheduling was a breeze, and they were Bonus – Precision Home Services handles the Mass Save rebate upfront, which was very helpful.
Ed and Tom were our installers; Tyler and Joey were our electricians. These guys spent five days with us. They arrived on time every day, laid down floor protectors, and cleaned up everything before leaving the house.
We work from home, so Tyler and Joey made a point to ask us when it was okay to flip breakers on and off to ensure it doesn't impact our work too much. They even found an issue with our exhaust fan in the basement and fixed the switch issue.
Ed and Tom went above and beyond with the install. Every morning, they walked us through what they would be doing for the day. They double-checked with us on the placement of units and outdoor lines before installing. We assumed the furnace and ductwork in the attic would be on the floor, but they suspended everything off the ground, following the ceiling line for the ductwork, because they wanted to preserve the storage space for us. Our entryway ceiling is black, and we requested a black register grille. They went out of their way to paint one black, and when they didn't like the way it looked, they searched for another and ordered it for us. The handover was excellent, and they both walked us through all the features and maintenance of the entire system.
Overall, we recommend folks consider them for work. They also offer plumbing and electrical services, making it a potentially comprehensive solution.”
